A small country with great contrasts. From countless vineyards, medieval towns, and unspoilt villages in the Minho, through the impressive landscape of the Douro valley to the highest mountain of mainland Portugal, the Serra da Estrella in the Beiras, and endless deserted plains in the Alentejo with the beautiful city of Évora

More details about this tour.

In the north you will stay with us, Erik and José on Quinta dos Moinhos in one of the attractive spacious holiday homes situated in the vineyard, a green oasis of peace and space. Because of the ideal location of the quinta, cities like Porto Guimarães and Braga are within easy reach. Or take a nice walk through one of the natural parks such as the Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês. A day relaxing on the quinta will certainly contribute to a wonderful stay. In the evening you can of course join us for a delicious dinner, or the gamba's prepared by Erik.

You will continue your tour to central Portugal and stay with our Dutch colleague Fir Tiebout on the Quinta da Geia, an 18th century country house in the village of Aldeia das Dez, with beautiful gardens and a large swimming pool. Situated on a slope of the Serra da Estrela. Discover special rock formations, deep ravines and beautiful flowers in spring. Also here many walking possibilities, and visit ancient villages. In the evening it is possible to dine in the accompanying restaurant João Brandão and enjoy the Portuguese and international cuisine.

You continue your journey to the south, to the Alentejo, the largest region of Portugal. Unprecedented silence, a gently undulating landscape where the grain fields alternate with large herds of cows and olive groves. In spring, the wild flowers provide a true colour splendour. You will stay with Cuno and Lucia Van der Feltz on their estate Monte da Serralheira just outside the city of Évora. Lucia, a qualified guide, will be happy to inform you about the many sights around Évora. For the birdwatchers among us, the region is home to several interesting birds. Various walking and cycling routes are available. GPS routes but of course you can also go off without any worries.

Of course this tour can be adapted to your own wishes. Sequence of route can be changed due to availability. This trip can be booked throughout the year with the exception of July and August.
